Preschool students collect turkeys for food bank
Thanksgiving is about a week away and some local preschoolers have been working for the past few months to help provide turkeys for Central Coast families in need. Kids at Bryant’s AAA Club in Lompoc raised about $1,200 during their third annual turkey drive.
On Wednesday, the kids used that money to buy turkeys for the Santa Barbara County Foodbank. Organizers say they were following in the footsteps of KSBY’s Season of Hope campaign. They say the turkeys weighed in at 944 pounds.
