From November 1st through December 31st, the Foodbank of Santa Barbara County will work overtime to feed more than 102,000 children, seniors and families this holiday season. Now more than ever, the Foodbank needs the community to contribute to make the holidays brighter for working families in need.
During this time, you can contribute foods to encourage (see below) at various Foodbank collection barrels throughout the county, including at all local grocery stores listed under Community Participants. You can also drop off non-perishable food at both Foodbank warehouses Mon - Fri 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM and Saturday, November 16th 8 AM - 3:30 PM.
You can also give through our virtual food drive. It's fast and easy.
The turkey drive is November 1st-November 22nd. Please donate your turkeys at either Foodbank warehouse location. Saturday, November 16th will be a special drop-off day at both warehouses.
HOLD A FOOD DRIVE If you are interested in holding a food or funds drive for your business, school, church or another organization, the Foodbank can supply you with the following materials so you can have a successful drive: boxes, barrels, a food drive information kit, coin collection canisters and posters listing needed food items. Click here for more information. We encourage the community to pick up supplies so that we can dedicate our resources to distributing food to those in need during our busy holiday season.
Volunteers are critical to our mission year-round, but we need extra help during the holidays. Contact one of our Community Leadership Coordinators listed below about our holiday-specific volunteering opportunities including: repackaging bulk foodstuff, collecting turkeys and donations at the warehouses, providing other warehouse assistance, collecting donations at grocery stores, picking fruit and vegetables through backyard bounty, and many others.
