This program distributes over 1,000,000 pounds of perishable goods annually that would otherwise be discarded.

The Foodbank's fleet of trucks pick up perishable product (baked goods, dairy products, deli, meats and produce) at 26 store locations throughout Santa Barbara County daily. The product is transported in temperature controlled vehicles and maintained in industrial size coolers and freezers where it is inspected daily until distributed to member agencies.

Santa Barbara County Albertsons stores contribute over 800,000 pounds of product to the Foodbank annually through the Grocery Rescue Program.
